From Foodie to Farmstead: Sustainable Practices to Transform Your Yard to a Raised Bed Chicken Haven

Looking for advice on simple ways to turn your backyard into a thriving food source? From raised beds to raising chickens, this fun and informative farm tour and workshop offers the hands-on experience you need to create your own farmstead. You’ll explore plant selection, crop rotation, and organic growing methods in the newly expanded teaching gardens, explore the chicken coop and compare fresh vs. store bought eggs. Participants will sample salads and refreshments prepared by  Napa Valley Culinary Program students and leave with printed resources, recipes, seeds, and fresh eggs. Be sure to bring a water bottle and good walking shoes! Pre-registration is required. For more info, visit the St. Helena event page here: https://www.sthelena.com/events/
